No more lamb skillets
Back in February 2017, Greek restaurant Stella’s started a brunch service with sliced leg of lamb with fried eggs, Easter bread French toast with sour cherries, mezze, and more. This week, owner Steven Niketas announced that the 14 Saint Philip St. eatery will discontinue brunch after Sunday, May 26.
Niketas cites the ongoing food and beverage staffing crisis as the reason for the change. He said, “Our amazingly loyal, long-time staff just needs one full day off per week to recharge and regroup. Brunch has been a favorite service of ours and we are very sad to see it go. When we are finally able to hire and train to appropriately cover all shifts, we will reevaluate our plan.”
With the onslaught of new places opening all the time, many Charleston restaurants find themselves without the proper amount of staff to run a smooth service. Just recently, breakfast canteen Kitchen 208 shuttered due to a lack of personnel.
